Austrian conductor and teacher, born 12.03.1951 in Vienna, Austria. He studied piano, organ and violoncello in Vienna. Since 1975 he was solo-cellist of the Wiener Symphoniker until in 1986 he gave his debut as conductor of the Wiener Symphoniker feierte. Thus he ended his career as a musician in the orchestra.
