British photographer and graphic designer (1941-1973) known for his intimate photographs of the sixties music scene. For a long time he was "court" photographer to the The Rolling Stones and formed a particularly close friendship with Keith Richards. He is perhaps most notable for the the iconic album cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. It is generally recognized that he was the basis for the main character Thomas in the Michelangelo Antonioni film Blow-Up from 1966.
