Sir Michael Parkinson CBE (affectionally known as "Parky") presented the eponymous chat show "Parkinson" on both the BBC and [url=https://www.discogs.com/label/ITV+Studios]ITV[/url] TV networks in the UK for over 35 years between the 1970s and 2000s (1971–1982, 1987–1988, and 1998–2007 – moving to ITV 2004–2007). He also broadcast on radio, wrote as a sports journalist and authored several children's books.
He was well known as being a fan of jazz music and prominently featured jazz musicians on both his TV and radio shows over the years, along with other types of music.
