Mini Pop Kids

The Mini Pop Kids is a Canadian children's music group that originated from the British "Minipops" television series in the early 1980s. The original Minipops featured preteen children performing contemporary pop hits, often dressed to resemble the original artists. While the UK version faced controversy and was short-lived, the concept found lasting success in Canada.

In Canada, the Mini Pop Kids have become the nation's premier children's music brand, which was revived in 2004 by John Kives (the founding manager of K-Tel), Managed by K-Tel and was produced from various production companies throughout the years, the group consists of talented children aged 9 to 14 who perform family-friendly versions of popular songs. They have released numerous albums, with "Mini Pop Kids 20" which been released in 2025, beyond their recordings, the Mini Pop Kids have achieved significant milestones, including over 3 billion streams across digital streaming music platforms, 1.5 million CDs sold (2004-2020 data) and more than 30 million views on YouTube. They have also embarked on sold-out tours across North America, bringing their high-energy performances to families far and wide. Their popularity is further evidenced by topping iTunes Kids Charts and Walmart sales charts, even surpassing major artists like One Direction and Lady Gaga at times.

The group's lineup evolves annually, with auditions open to the public, allowing fresh talent to join and continue the tradition of delivering kid-friendly pop music. This approach ensures that the Mini Pop Kids remain relevant and relatable to their audience. In addition to music, the Mini Pop Kids brand has expanded to include a clothing line available at Walmart, online popstar classes through OutSchool, and various other merchandise, allowing fans to engage with the brand beyond the music.
