His first recordings were made in 1956 in producer J.D. Miller's Crowley, La., studio (released as by Vince Monroe on Excello), with 1959 recordings in the same studio released on Zynn (some as Mr. Calhoun) and recordings for Instant made in New Orleans in 1964 released as by Polka Dot Slim.
