    Initially formed by Jacky, Ben-J and Djamatik, the band became a duet after it first album. Their biggest hit, Le Bilan, from the [url=https://www.discogs.com/Jacky-Ben-J-Le-Bilan/master/307778]album of the same name[/url], was released as "Jacky & Ben-J (Nèg' Marrons)", sometimes appearing on compilations credited to Nèg' Marrons.

    The group was part of the Secteur Ä collective, as well as the Ruff Neg'Marrons group (with Ruffneg') and Le Noyau Dur (with Arsenik and Pit Baccardi). They also launched the Première Classe label with Pit Baccardi, Patou and Stéphane.
