Nemrud are Mert Göçay (vocal, guitar), Levent Candaş (bass guitar) and Mert Alkaya (drum). Based in Istanbul/Turkey, Nemrud are the first Turkish act pioneering a groundbreaking singular form of Progressive Rock with the debut album Journey of the Shaman. Nemrud created an unique sound that has been spreading over the independent scene since 2008. Two more critically acclaimed followed, gaining them the title of Pioneers of Turkish Progressive Rock. The lyrics delicately explore The Tree of Life and deep dive in the Origin of Sex and Origin of Mitosis. Nemrud's careful composed lyrics give the audience a dooming multivariate mythological inference for the extinction of human kind. All 3 albums are intertwined and include sophisticated references to evolutionary theories and ancient mythology.
