Nico Segal

Nico Segal (born June 25, 1993) is a Grammy-winning trumpeter, composer, and producer from Chicago, Illinois. He first gained recognition as a member of Kids These Days, a genre-blending band that fused hip-hop, jazz, and rock before disbanding in 2013.

Following Kids These Days, Segal became a core member of The Social Experiment, the collective behind Surf (2015), an innovative fusion of jazz, hip-hop, and soul led by Chance the Rapper. He later co-founded Intellexual, a songwriting and production duo with Nate Fox, further showcasing his versatility in genre-bending compositions.

In 2023, Segal released his solo album, Tell The Ghost Welcome Home, a deeply personal and sonically rich project that blends jazz, electronic, and cinematic elements. The album reflects his evolving artistry and ability to craft immersive musical experiences.

Segal is also a co-founder of The JuJu Exchange, an experimental jazz ensemble pushing the boundaries between live instrumentation and electronic music. Over the years, he has collaborated with artists such as Chance the Rapper, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, J. Cole, and Resavoir, solidifying his reputation as one of Chicago’s most forward-thinking musicians.
