Nino Pirrotta (13 June 1908, Palermo, Italy — 22 January 1998, Palermo) was an Italian musicologist who specialized in the late medieval, Renaissance, and early Baroque eras. Pirrotta taught at Princeton University as a visiting professor between 1954 and 1956, before joining the Princeton University's faculty as Professor of Music and Chief Music Librarian. He served as Head of the Music Department at Harvard (1965–68) and further taught until 1972. Since then, he returned to Italy, serving as the Chair of Musicology at [i]Sapienza – Università di Roma[/i].
