Raimundo Nonato Rodrigues de Araújo, better known as Nonato or Maestro Nonato, was a brazilian instrumentalist, band leader, studio owner and music teacher born in Itapecuru Mirim, Maranhão on 14th of February 1936 and died on 6th of September 2010.

He started playing harmonica as a child in his local church, and later learned how to play wind instruments (tuba and clarinet) and the guitar. His musical career started in 1963 with the band Nonato E Seu Conjunto, earning a wide reputation in the 60s and 70s in his native Maranhão state and other surrounding states.

He established the first recording studio in São Luis do Maranhão, Sonato Estúdio. Before passing away, he was the director of a music school in São José de Ribamar.
