Brazilian singer and guitarist.
Born in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil 12 August 1909 Died 25 February 2008 (age of 98).
In 1923 her family moved to Rio de Janeiro where she began to learn the guitar and to train her voice.
She toured Europe and the Americas extensively, singing her native songs and accompanying herself on her guitar.
From 1944, she maintained a romantic relationship with Spanish classical guitarist Andrés Segovia, which was to last for over a decade.
