    Opus Posth

The ensemble Opus-Posth. was formed in 1999 from the Academy Of Ancient Music Moscow, a well-known orchestra founded by Tatiana Grindenko.

The ensemble´s work is based on the concept of composer Vladimir Martynov, which defines musicians´ creative views in line with the contemporary cultural situation. This concept is reflected in the very name of the ensemble – Opus-Posth., which is a widely-used abbreviation of the Latin opus posthumus (posthumous work), normally given to a piece of music that is published only after the composer´s death. Today the words opus posth mean something greater than just a posthumous publication – they are connected with a new kind of music that appeared in the era of Postmodernism.
The ensemble Opus-Posth. is a unique orchestra which not only performs works by contemporary composers, but which also seeks out new form of expression in music. For over two years now the ensemble has been working in a previously nonexistent genre which lies on the borders between opera, concert, folklore and the avant-garde.
