    Painfield

Swedish, Gothenburg-based metal/hardcore band, formed in 1997. Painfield is a hardcore/nu-metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. They formed in 1997 and were most successful in underground scenes between 1999 and 2005. Their intense live shows earned them a reputation as a very good, rocking live band in their genre, and reviewers across Europe praised both their debut album This Time and their live acts.[1] The group's heavy, aggressive music along with brutal vocals and screaming, mixed with fast rapping became one of Painfield's most successful recipes. The band consists of Cain Gordon (vocals and guitar), Andreas Engberg (drums) and Gabriel Engberg (bass guitar). In 2000, Two-faced was released, which is a self-produced EP that in total during the years 2000-2002 was printed in about 10,000 copies by the band themselves with the request that everyone should spread the music and burn it to friends. Two-faced received top reviews and took Painfield on several tours of Europe's underground scenes and record labels began to show interest in the band. In 2003, they signed to a smaller, local record label with the hopes of getting more attention and support than a larger one. This Time was recorded at Studio Mega with Christian Silver, and was released late that year. The album received good reviews across Europe and even reached number nine on Sound Pollution's distribution chart. The band played smaller clubs around Europe for a couple of years, occasionally opening for bands like The Haunted, In Flames and Hatebreed.
