Pariah

About

Pariah is a heavy metal band from Newcastle upon Tyne, North East England, England, United Kingdom, that was formed in 1979 under the name Satan. The band had temporary changed its name twice, in 1984 to Blind Fury and in 1988 to Pariah. The name Pariah was used from 1988 to 1989 and from 1997 to 1998. The band was part of the NWOBHM movement. Not to be confused with [a=Pariah (13)] and [a=Pariah (15)] from the USA as well as [a=Pariah (29)] from Belgium.

The band released two albums, 1988's "The Kindred" and 1989's "Blaze of Obscurity", before disbanding in 1990. These albums featured the same line-up that had been performing as Satan since 1985. Pariah regrouped in 1997 with drummer Ian McCormack (another Satan alum) and vocalist Alan Hunter in place of earlier members Sean Taylor and Michael Jackson, respectively. This version of the band released 1997's "Unity" but split the following year.
