Paula Fernandes de Souza (Sete Lagoas, August 28, 1984) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and actress. Singer since childhood, Fernandes started singing professionally at the age of eight. She released her self-started debut album independently in 1993 and went on to participate in regional radio and television programs in Minas Gerais, but was unsuccessful. The singer then continued releasing albums - among them Ana Rayo (1995), Canções do Vento Sul (2005) and Dusty in the Wind (2007) - until she signed with the Universal Music label and released her fifth studio album, Pássaro de Fogo (2009), certified with triple platinum by ABPD. The title track of the album reached the top of the Brazilian music charts, leading Paula to stardom.
