Pearl Jones, from Port Huron, Michigan, had started her career as a backing singer for, among others, Marvin Gaye and Billy Stewart and she was also part of Aretha Franklin's Sweethearts Of Soul. After numerous local TV appearances she found herself at the doors of Sidra and signed as a singer/songwriter. She was the lead singer with Sidra's girl group the Embraceables who cut one 45 - LET ME BABY GO / HERE I GO, both sides of which were penned by Pearl. She also wrote and sung PLEASE STAY which saw a release on Gino Washington's W.I.G. label. It is thought that Gino named the label after the wig shop next door to his office. After the demise of Sidra Pearl joined the Detroit 4-piece Glass House alongside Ty Hunter, Larry Mitchell and Freda Paine's younger sister Sherrie.
