Peg Bean

Southern Gospel singer and founding member of The McKameys, from Clinton, TN. She died Dec. 26, 2023, after suffering a stroke earlier in the month. Peg, known for holding a Bible and handkerchief while singing on stage, was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, In 2022, she was inducted into the Tri-State Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Peg won the Singing News Fan Award for Favorite Female Singer seven times (1989-1994, 2002) and was the recipient of the Norcross-Templeton Award in 2011.
