Greenlandic musician and politician, born 1950 in Qeqertarsuaq. In the early 70's he founded one of Greenlands first rockbands, Sume that became a major influence on the development of rock music in Greenland. In the 80's he ran the Qilaat Music Aps label, His father was mayor of the greenlandic capitol Nuuk and in the 90's Per Berthelsen also took on politics, eventually forming his own party that gave him seat in both the Nuuk town council, the greenlandic parlament and the Nordic Council. Stepfather and major musical influence to singer Julie Berthelsen. Brother of Birthe Olsen.
