Pietro Fara (Guitarist) (Chitarrista)

Born in Pozzomaggiore in 1923, Pietro Fara was a brilliant guitarist whose career, which began in 1954, ended prematurely with his death in 1974. He performed in all the squares of Sardinia, in Italy and abroad, always enjoying wide acceptance and warm sympathy.
In particular, his career has been linked to the artistic formation called "Terzetto sardo", together with the cantadores (Singers of Sardinian folklore with guitar) Tonino Canu and Giuseppe Chelo. Pietro Fara has left us many records recorded with the Italian RCA, in Rome, together with Tonino Canu and Giuseppe Chelo.
His rich and passionate artistic activity was however cut short prematurely, by a heart attack, during a trip to France, where he was going for a tour together with accordionist Peppino Pippia and the Cantadores (Singers of Sardinian folklore with guitar) Giuseppe Chelo and Leonardo Cabizza.
Unfortunately, his earthly existence ends with his brilliant and short career. He died a few days later, it was April 5, 1974.

(Nato a Pozzomaggiore nel 1923, Pietro Fara è stato un brillante chitarrista la cui carriera, iniziata nel 1954, si è interrotta prematuramente con la sua morte avvenuta nel 1974. Si è esibito in tutte le piazze della Sardegna, in Italia e all'estero, riscuotendo sempre ampi consensi e calorosa simpatia. In particolare, la sua carriera è stata legata alla formazione artistica denominata “Terzetto sardo”, insieme ai cantadores Tonino Canu e Giuseppe Chelo. Di Pietro Fara ci rimangono moltissimi dischi incisi con la RCA italiana, a Roma, insieme a Canu e Chelo.
La sua ricca e appassionata attività artistica viene però stroncata prematuramente, da un infarto, durante un viaggio in Francia, dove si stava recando per una tournèe insieme al fisarmonicista Peppino Pippia e ai cantadores Chelo e Cabizza.
Con la sua brillante e breve carriera si conclude, purtroppo, anche la sua esistenza terrena. Morì infatti alcuni giorni dopo, era il 5 aprile 1974).
