Formed in West London in 1984 by Andrew Burton and Elisabeth Clark.
Early releases featured contributions from Daniel Roper (guitar) Michael B (bass) and Peter Shyjka (aka Seb. MC. Percussion and tape effects).

Existing on the periphery of the industrial electronic scene, the focus was on constructing soundscapes of a more rhythmic nature and applying the techniques electro-acoustic music and musique Concret through the filter of dub production. Heavily influenced by the punk ethos of Throbbing Gristle and the Pop Group, the sound also benefited from the ambient post-production treatment which smoothed out the harsher edges. Material was primarily recorded 8-track at Strangeways Sound Studios and mixed 16-track at RMS in South London and engineered by Andy Le-Vien.

The last recording sessions culminated in the 1988 album "Of Resonances and Divine things" on The Produkt Korps label. A compilation of this and earlier material entitled "The Noose and the Spear" appeared on the The Produkt Korps label.

The first two cassette releases, "Recreation and Relaxation" and "The Essential question" are scheduled for vinyl re-release in North America in 2023.

Andrew Leeds Burton went on to work with Andrew Beer and Tony Thorpe founding the Funky Alternatives compilation series and subsequently became the managing director of The Produkt Korps.
