American queer punk duo composed of Liv Bruce, a trans woman, and Ben Hopkins, who identifies as non-binary.
Accusations of sexually predatory conduct against Ben Hopkins emerged in May 2017, at the time of release of their second album, Pageant .
Amidst those allegations, several bands initially scheduled to join PWR BTTM on their 2017 summer tour pulled out of their shows and PWR BTTM was dropped by their management company. The band's labels, Polyvinyl Record Company, Big Scary Monsters and Father/Daughter Records, announced they would no longer be selling their music or merchandise, with Polyvinyl Record Company offering refunds to customers who had bought Pageant .
The move was followed by the removal of the band's discography from most online retailers and music-streaming services.
In 2020, Ben Hopkins released their debut solo album.
