    German pianist and keyboarder, born 1951 in Hamburg. After touring a.o. with Amon Düül II (1972) und Atlantis (1973) he went to Boston in 1974 to study at the Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory. Back to Germany in 1981 he founded the Rainer Schnelle Trio. Since then active as musician and educator. For five years in the 1980s he worked as a pianist and musical director for Eartha Kitt on her tours.
