About

Moroccan-born Spanish guitarist, born 1953, Casablanca, Morocco - died July 2026. He moved to Spain in 1965, and began his musical career playing percussion and piano before transitioning to the guitar. In 1968, he joined the instrumental band Los Pekenikes. In 1971, he had great success with the song "Mamy Blue" with The Pop Tops. In 1973, George Harrison invited him to London, England, where he met Keith Emerson, Jon Anderson, and Carmine Appice. A year later he went to New York where he met John Lennon and other important musicians and became a sought-after session guitarist. His playing on Stanley Clarke's album "School Days" (1976) is considered as some of his best work.
