In-demand session musician, Orville "Red" Rhodes, known as Red Rhodes or O. J. Rhodes (born December 30, 1930 - died August 20, 1995), was an American steel guitarist. Rhodes played pedal steel on many influential country rock albums, but is most often remembered for his work with former Monkee Michael Nesmith, on his first post-Monkees albums in the early 1970s with Michael Nesmith & The First National Band.
