Richard was born in Barbados on 8th January, 1946 in the Parish of St. Michael. He died on 25 november 2023 at the age of 77, after a lenghty illnes. He received his education at St. Mary’s Junior School and subsequently at St. Leonard’s Boys School. Mr. Stoute was an exceptional school student and aspired to begin a 60-year career in Music and Entertainment, the field that he loved, since at the very young age of 12. He could have taken the opportunity to leave the shores of Barbados to pursue opportunities elsewhere; however, his decision was to remain in Barbados to mentor and share his talents with scores of up and coming aspiring singers. Ultimately, for the last 40+ years Mr. Stoute has graduated thousands of Barbadian Youth with Music careers. A few notable graduates and contestants are: Rupee, Edwin Yearwood, Hal Linton, Adrian Clarke Anderson “Blood” Armstrong, Tamara Marshall, Terencia Coward, and Calypso Monarchs, Classic, Ian Webster, Aziza; which demonstrates his contribution to the Crop Over Festivities. The Soca Monarchs are Mr. Blood Armstrong, Barry Chandler, Alison Hinds, Terencia Coward and Rupee; all who have gone on to realize impressive careers.
