Died October 1, 2000, Quogue, New York, USA.
Do NOT confuse with the singer Bob Allen.

He collaborated with the lyricist Al Stillman on several occasions. He was also an accompanist for Perry Como, Peter Lind Hayes, Arthur Godfrey.
As a songwriter, he charted 57 times in the U.S. and U.K. between 1951 and 2021. "Chances Are" by Johnny Mathis was his only #1 and came in 1957. "Moments to Remember" and "No, No, Not Much" by The Four Lads, both landed at #2 in the U.S. in 1955 and 1956, respectively. "If Dreams Came True" by Pat Boone was his highest charting U.K. hit at #16 in 1958 (and #7 in the U.S.). "Everybody Loves a Lover" by Doris Day also landed on both charts in 1958--at #25 in the U.K. and #6 in the U.S.
