Born April 8, 1963 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK, Ron Tree joined Hawkwind in 1995, having known the band on the free festival circuit whilst in bands such as 2000DS, Plato's Jacuzzi, and his own band Bastard. He initially joined as a vocalist, but soon took up bass duties as well after Alan Davey's temporary departure following the release of the Alien 4 album. Ron departed the band in 2002 and was last known to have been performing with Mother Of All Bands, The Sewer Suckers and the recently re-formed Hawklords, along with other ex-Hawkwind members.
