Rose Netane

AKA Roselani Netane. She is the sister of John Ki’eki’e Akana who was a member of The Royal Drifters, said to be Hawaii's first rock & roll group.

Her album, [r=11002088] which was recorded at the venue owned by Frank Cannova, was released in 1978. She appeared at the venue with backing by The Tonga Islanders. Her daughters Lavinia, Healani and Vikilani would also appear during the show. Her son Chief Willie Netane would perform a knife fire dance.

She was married to Tongan born entertainer Viliami Netane for 38 years until his death in 1999. He opened the Florida Folk Festival: Asian and Pacific Island Tradition in 1979. He founded Netane Family Productions. They performed the Polynesian Luau and Dinner Show at SeaWorld in Orlando, California and Ohio for almost 20 years.
