Roy Mayorga was born on April 6, 1970 in New York City, New York, USA, descendant of Equatorian & Cuban parents. Started playing drums for the crust punk band Nausea, after they ended, formed Thorn with ex-Nausea bandmate John John Jesse but the project didn't last long, then in '98 joined Soulfly, now he is the drummer for the hard rock band Stone Sour, and has also joined U.K. crust legends Amebix.
Has also played with various other musicians and bands, like Disassociate, Mass Mental?, Medication, Ozzy Osbourne, Downset, Vanilla Ice, Sepultura, Hail!, among others.
He also works as a sound engineer, recording bands & scoring movies soundtracks.
