    Sally grew up in Sydney. She was vocalist and one of the founding members of rock/pop quartet Lustre 4 and in the 1990s she played guitar for a short time in SPDFGH.

    She moved to Melbourne and created New Buffalo with a different, more downtempo musical style, releasing her debut material in February 2000.
