Sandii

Singer (Birth name - Aya Suzuki) born in Japan to an American father, Sandra (as she was known then) moved to Hawaii aged 10 and began training as a Hula dancer before deciding to become a singer in the mid-70s.

Following a debut single release on an indie label in Hawaii, Sandi returned back to her home country of Japan to work as a DJ and entertainer, securing her first record deal with Toho with the support of Kyu Sakamoto.

In the late 1970s Sandii recorded a number of sessions using different names, and sometimes uncredited, often for TV and radio commercials. Sandii is still recording but also runs schools teaching Hula and also works as a TV presenter.
