About

Sasha Mashin was born in 1976 in St Petersburg, Russia. In 1991 she joined the jazz-club Kvadrat where she met many jazz musicians from St. Petersburg.

After studying for two months at the Musorgsky University of Music, she decided to start her professional career as an artist and leave the university.

In 1998, he moved to Moscow where he continued to collaborate with some of the best Russian jazz musicians.

In 2005 Sasha Mashin participated in the Open World Program USA educational programme in New York and played with legends such as Clark Terry, Kenny Barron and Jimmy Heath
at the Blue Note Jazz Club.

Since 2008 he has been travelling the world with the band Isfar Sarabski.

In 2023, he released the album Happy Run for BirdBox Records featuring two extraordinary artists, saxophonist Rosario Giuliani and double bassist Makar Novikov.
The album is available on CD and in the prestigious Reference Master Tape Copy format.
