Sefler was the precursor to Saves The Day featuring several early members of Saves the Day. They performed in basements and outside pizza shops for whoever would listen. Sometime in 1997 the name changed to Saves the Day, when they got their first record deal with Equal Vision Records records. The name was based off of an email typo.
