Irish folk rock group formed in 1992 by Shane MacGowan, also recording and performing on their own as The Popes. Active until the death of founding member Tom McManamon in 2006. The Popes re-emerged with a new lineup led by founding member Paul McGuinness, but has been inactive since he suffered a head injury in 2013.
