Shaun Soomro

Growing up in the W10 area of London (Ladbroke Grove) Shaun had a rich musical environment to absorb from. Honest Jon's and Dub Vendor, were the first record shops he started digging for records in which began his passion for artists like: Miles Davis, Sun RA, King Tubby & Pink Floyd. His first glimpse of a party atmosphere was hearing the sound systems from the Notting Hill Carnival roll through his street. The early 90's was a golden era for UK underground dance music that Shaun was lucky to have witnessed first hand, from listening to UK Garage artists like R.I.P. Productions and Tuff Jam at Gas Club to Drum & Bass artists like Dillinja and Source Direct at the Blue Note. These experiences were the foundations that helped shape and influence what Shaun does musically till this day.

Pirate radio was the catalyst to push Shaun from bedroom DJ to playing live to a wide audience. After sending a few mix tapes to Rude FM and gaining their attention, Shaun went onto play for them and built a loyal following which led him to host his own weekly Saturday night show.

In 2007 Shaun set up LMD recordings to give platform to what he terms as "introspective electronic music" from artists such as: STL, Burnt Friedman, Petre Inspirescu, Melchior Productions & Hieroglyphic Being. Releasing music not just for the dance floor.
