Situationists

About

Forming at Sheffield University in late 2006, Situationists were a four-piece band who dealt in complex guitar lines infused with a strong pop sensibility, at the height of Arctic Monkeys mania when Sheffield bands were being picked up by labels eager to cash in on the 'New Yorkshire' phenomenon. Despite praise and airplay from the likes of Steve Lamacq on Radio One and John Kennedy at XFM, they didn't release anything until 2008, due to personal changes and a manager who kept on delaying things. The band split in 2009. Members were Dan Shamplin Hall (guitar, vocals), Sam Weatherald (guitar, vocals), Ralph Wilson (drums, vocals) and Nick Cox (bass, vocals). On April 4th, 2012 the band posted on their facebook account informations about their recent engagements in the bands Fall Forwards, Screaming Maldini (Nick Cox) and Clever Girl (Sam Weatherald).
