Founded in 1999 in Glasgow by Angus MacPhail and Andrew Stevenson during their studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) in Glasgow. The Skipinnish brand is also used to market whisky and in running a cèilidh house named the Skipinnish Ceilidh House which has been built in Fort William. There was previously a Skipinnish Ceilidh House in Oban.
