About

Scottish pop - glam - bubblegum band
Formed in Glasgow in November 1974, after changing their name from Salvation and replacing drummer Matt Cairns with Kenny Hyslop and keyboardist Robin Birrel with Billy McIsaac, with Kevin McGinlay departing for a solo career, leaving only bassist Jim McGinlay and guitarist Midge Ure from the Salvation line-up. They were launched as a glam pop band following their label Polydor instructions and after the failure of their debut single "The Boogiest Band In Town" they changed label and signed at Polydor scoring their No.1 hit "Forever And Ever" in 1976. In March 1977 bassist Jim McGinlay left the band and was replaced by Russell Webb, but they didn't last long. After their name change to PVC2 for a punk single in 1977 they disbanded. Midge Ure joined Rich Kids and then Ultravox, replacing John Foxx in 1980. Kenny Hyslop, Russell Webb and Billy McIsaac went on as Zones with singer - guitarist Willie Gardner.
