Passionate about electronic music instruments and music production from an early age, Alessandro Russo, aka “SLOK,” is an Italian composer, DJ, and producer based in Paris, France. He grew up listening to, and still loves, all styles of music. His career as a producer began in 1993 with the release of the single Freeway on Zippy Records, a UK label managed by Dave Piccioni.

He was also part of the Italian ’90s hip-hop scene with the group “Razzarap,” produced by Italian Italo-disco/New Wave pioneer and talent scout Claudio Cecchetto.

As “SLOK,” he has released not only original tracks, including one of the very first Italian jungle and drum & bass albums, They Call It Jungle (1997), but also numerous remixes for some of the most renowned international indie labels in the techno, house, jungle, and breakbeat scenes, such as IRMA Records, Satoshi Tomiie’s SAW Recordings, and Get Physical Music, to name a few.

In 2002, he produced the tech and progressive house project “Stereonova,” releasing several singles on the UK label and record shop Plastic Fantastic. The project generated massive excitement worldwide and received strong support from leading DJs such as Danny Tenaglia, John Digweed, Deep Dish, and Hernan Cattaneo, among many others.

In 2006, he founded his own label, Electronic Petz, to support emerging talents, which in 2025 evolved into a broad-spectrum electronic music production project.

Additionally, he has recently begun focusing on producing music for audiovisual projects for renowned French labels such as GUM Tapes and Kaptain Music.
