Belgian (post) punk band from Leuven, active between 1982 and 1984, reforming in 2019. Sovjet War evolved from The Sovjets (1979-1981). As harder punk music was on its way out around this time, they adapted, changing their name and incorporating poppier influences. The band existed for 2 years playing shows extensively about 2 times a week, with such bands as Red Zebra, The Sound, [a=Neon Judgement], Nitwitz, and Svätsox among others. After their hibernation they reformed not long before the Covid 19 lockdown, releasing a comeback album and EP. Sovjet War's sound balances on the border between old school punk and dark post-punk.
