Surinam producer, arranger, songwriter, trumpeter, conductor, orchestra-, choir- and bandleader.
Born March 11, 1947 in Onverwacht, Suriname - died December 1, 2010 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

He is best known for his mix of Jazz with Kaseko, Soul and Calypso. Nicknamed the Godfather of Surinam music.

He moved to the Netherlands to study music, joining The Needles during the early 1970's. Following his graduation in 1977 he moved to the USA to study at Berklee. He arranged a lot of the songs for Lieve Hugo which propelled his standing in the Surinam music industry. He was awarded a Commandeur in the Honorary Order of the Yellow Star.
