Italian contrabass soloist and composer, born in Macerata, June 18th 1956, died January 8th 2012 in Cuernavaca.

He collaborated with Luigi Nono, Giacinto Scelsi and Terry Riley. Sylvano Bussotti, Franco Donatoni, Brian Ferneyhough, Fred Frith, Vinko Globokar, Fernando Mencherini, Salvatore Sciarrino, Gerhard Stäbler and Iannis Xenakis have composed works especially for him.

Co-founder and music director of the double bass ensemble Ludus Gravis.
