Briefly active American blues / hard rock band from Houston, Texas. Only active between 1971-1972. After the Josefus last gig in December 1970, J. C. "Pete" Bailey (vocals) and Ray Turner (bass) teamed up with "Wolf" Mike Long (lead guitar) and Jerry Ontiberoz (drums) to form a new band. Stone Axe had short life and released only a single in 1971 pressed in 500 copies. Shortly after they disbanded.
