German progressive rock band founded in Munich in 1966 as "The Subjects". Renamed to Subject Esq. in 1968 they won a Beat Music competition in the Löwenbräukeller and subsequently played a lot of live and TV shows. After some changes in line-up and a new contract with Ariola in 1972 they evolved into Sahara.
