Sylvia La Torre (born June 4, 1933 in the Philippines - died December 1, 2022), known as "The Queen of Kundiman", was a Spanish Filipino singer, actress, and radio star. La Torre is the daughter of Filipino artist, Leonora Reyes, and director, Olive La Torre. Her granddaughter is Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, for whom she was an early singing coach. Known for her high soprano voice. She is the first soprano who broke through the pop culture successfully in the Philippines. She joined showbiz due to the prodding of her father, Olive La Torre, a known director who was credited for having resurrected Sampaguita Pictures via the historic Roberta (1951). At age seven, she became a certified film star via Ang maestra (1941).
