After getting together in London, the Taxxi boys relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area (California, USA) where they hooked up with manager David Leiken, who brought them to Fantasy Records. They had some success in France where the track Not Me Girl from their Day For Night LP was a bonafide club smash. Girl (New York City), the single from their States Of Emergency LP, hit the top 20 on France’s Hit Parade des Clubs. In the US Taxxi videos were played on MTV, where band is best known for the songs I'm Leaving, also from States Of Emergency, and Maybe Someday, from their third album Foreign Tongue. Both songs also charted on Billboard's Top Tracks rock radio airplay chart.
