The Creature Comfort

The Creature Comfort was formed in Manchester, UK, in 1986 when Ben Le Jeune (vocals) hooked up with Steve Bradley (bass), Danny Evans (guitar), Robert Norman Knight (guitar), Ged O'Brien (drums). They were managed by Gareth Evans (The Stone Roses manager) from 1987-1989, who was grooming them as the 'next big thing'. A residency at Manchester's iconic rock venue The International gave them an opportunity to hone their material and stage craft while sharing stage with indie/rock darlings of the time such as Mudhoney, Gun Club, American Music Club, Suicidal Tendencies, Young Gods and more. Drugs, bad faith and the loss of all their equipment led to the break-up of this initial line up in 1989, just as they were about to explode more widely onto the UK scene. Le Jeune continued the band with various line-ups including some continued involvement with Knight, until 1999 when he disappeared from the scene for over a decade. In 2013 the band reappeared with a well-received debut album and new line-up: Le Jeune (vocals), Brad Ingham (bass), Steven K Jones (guitar), Jose Luis Ortega (guitar), Christian Payne (drums).
