    Power pop band from Austin, Texas, U.S.A. The band was formed in 1978 and split up in 1982, with some occasional shows played until the band started working together again in 2005. From 1979 to 1981, The Explosives were the backing band for Roky Erickson and played with him again regularly from 2005 to 2008.
