About

American psychedelic rock band from the Detroit suburb of Westland, Michigan, active in the early 1970s. The Roll brothers Rick (bass, vocals) and Bruce (guitar) joined forces in 1964 with their friend Danny Sills (drums) in The Cyclones, who played local dances and Battle Of The Bands type events with a repertoire of early rock'n'roll and Beatles covers. The brothers were then called up to serve in Vietnam: when they returned at the end of the 1960s, the trio reconvened in The Glass Sun.

Influenced by the new wave of heavy bands such as Cream, Iron Butterfly, Grand Funk Railroad, Led Zeppelin, ... they recorded 2 singles for Danny Dallas' Sound Patterns label in 1971-1972, each pressed in a total quantity of 300 copies. But like most localised early 1970s singles, both 45s passed under the radar at the time before being discovered decades later by US garage/psych/hard fans. The trio continued to play together for many years, but without releasing anything.
