The Letter E

About

The Letter E was a short-lived band of four four musicians who all converged in a building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn known as 127 South 8th Street. In their own words, It is a testament of space, of a building that embraced four different talents and sensibilities and that reshaped our lives. The loss of 127 South 8th Street in a building fire is echoed in the wonderful music created by The Letter E, at times pretty, at times challenging, and always enthralling. Curtis Harvey (Rex, Pullman), Josh Matthews (Blue Man Group), Sean Meadows (June of 44, Lungfish, Sonora Pine, Everlasting the Way, and Boondoggle) and Enis Sefersah wrote and recorded their debut 4-song instrumental EP in December of 1997, marking the inception of their songwriting as a group and demonstrating the complexity of both the situation presented at 127 South 8th Street and the loss of such a home. While the various members of The Letter E are very busy with their respective projects, they will be releasing their debut full-length (produced by Bob Weston) in October 2000.
